Photography this morning was a challenge. The most active time was about 30 minutes
prior to sunrise - about 6:10 a.m. It's difficult to get a photograph at that time. Then, about
10 minutes before sunrise, a predator flew near the lek - and all the grouse scattered,
including about five females. When the grouse came back, there weren't as many
females, and thus, the lek wasn't as active. I counted about 22-23 grouse a number
of times during the morning, but am guessing that there were probably around 30 at
the peak as it is hard to see the entire lek from where I sat.
